What is Billit?

Billit is an online platform for easy and quick digital invoicing, via Peppol and other international standards. Our package offers a tailored solution for every type of business, from sole proprietorships to large enterprises. Public organizations can also use our services.

In addition to a platform for entrepreneurs, Billit offers a free portal for accountants, providing them with digital access to their clients' administration to facilitate optimal collaboration.

Billit's mission is to automate repetitive administrative tasks for entrepreneurs and accountants as much as possible, helping them save time and money and allowing them to focus on their core tasks.

A bit of history

Billit was born out of pure frustration in 2014. Friends Tom Van Gaever and Michael Demeersseman, both active as IT freelancers, felt they were losing too much valuable time on administration. They sought a way to eliminate this issue so they could focus more on entrepreneurship. Their passion for IT quickly led them to digital invoices, which was brand new at the time and perfectly aligned with the EDI principle (electronic data interchange).

Tom and Michael got to work and developed the first version of the Billit platform, which they made available to the public in 2016. Since then, many versions have been released, and Billit has grown into a highly powerful tool with numerous features.

Today, Billit has 75,000 active users who process over 1.2 million invoices monthly.

Billit as an organization

Billit has 35 employees and offices in Ghent, Brussels, and Hamburg. We take pride in keeping our entire operation in-house – every line of code has been written by our team.
