Earlier this year, the accountancy firm Qaltera in Halen made a fresh start with a name change and new branding. What didn’t change was their customer-friendly approach and wide range of services for startups, SMEs and associations.

Jeroen Martens runs Qaltera together with his wife, Nele. Thanks to extensive digitization with Billit, they can now focus on their clients’ needs and minimise repetitive tasks.

Jeroen Martens: 'In 2020, we started under the name Jenemacc. We took over an existing firm's client portfolio, but at that time, none of the files had been digitized. With 16 years’ experience behind me as a file manager at a Leuven firm, I'd seen how digitization makes work easier. 
That’s why I immediately started looking for suitable software when I set up my own firm. One of my clients introduced me to Billit, which was the perfect solution for me. The platform has many features and yet remains affordable.'

Thanks to Billit, Jeroen and Nele can now process about 40% more files than their predecessors, who were a team of three.

Jeroen: 'Initially, some of my clients were somewhat reluctant to work digitally, as they were used to doing everything on paper, but they soon realised the benefits. For me, as an accountant, it's convenient to always have digital access to my clients’ files, as it helps me optimise my work schedule. At the same time, my clients now also have a powerful tool in Billit that can save them a lot of time. It means they no longer need to deliver their files to my office, they can quickly create and send invoices digitally, and if they link their bank account, it's also very easy to track payments.'

Positive reactions

Indeed, Jeroen receives very positive reactions from his clients: 'Some of our clients would lose invoices or their document numbering was incorrect. That's no longer possible thanks to Billit. My clients manage their own records, meaning there's no more panicking at the end of the quarter.'

Jeroen is currently setting up every new client with Billit and by next year, he will have organised the switch to digital administration for all of them: 'As e-invoicing via Peppol will soon be mandatory for businesses, it's best to start using it now. Billit is the right choice. Can you tell how excited I am about it? I recommend Billit to my clients and colleagues and often post about it on LinkedIn. I don’t do that lightly, it's because I’m truly convinced of the benefits. I'm building a digital future together with my clients.'
