    Categories
This article explains how to select a category for your purchase invoices, enabling you to analyze your expenses in an organized manner.

    Selecting a category
Click on the 'Category' field to open the dropdown menu. A new window will appear with a list of available main categories. After selecting the main category, choose the desired subcategory. At the top, you can always search for the desired category by name or keyword.
Note: In many cases, we already provide a suggested category. If you want to change the suggestion or if the field is empty, you can click on the 'Category' field to select a new category manually.

    Choosing a category
In the 'Select a Category' window, you will see various main categories, such as:

    • Investments
    • Subcontracting
    • (Trade) goods
    • Rent
    • Vehicles (passenger car, light truck, motorcycle, etc.)
    • General expenses
    • Buildings/offices
    • Fees/commissions
    • Personnel/temporary staff
    • Startup costs
    • Insurance
    • Social contributions

    Saving and linking a category
After selecting the desired category, it is automatically saved and linked to the supplier profile. This means that the category will be automatically suggested for future invoices from the same supplier, saving you time and maintaining consistency in categories. The linked category can always be adjusted in the supplier profile.

    Checking reports
Under 'Reports > Expenditures,' you will find a chart displaying expense categories, showing expenses per category. After processing an invoice with an assigned category, this chart is updated automatically. It provides a current overview of all expense items and their associated amounts, giving you quick insights into the distribution of your expenses by category.
